| Gather data using present approach (nurse Controls) Data gathered by the nurses to verify the adequacy of the model’s prediction capability may be acquired in the present state of the neonatal equipment with the addition of an indicator to determine valve position. The kind of data required will include but not be limited to Oxymeter reading, time of day (24 hour clock), and valve setting before and after adjustment. Specify Number of Patients The number of patients tested in either mode will be determined by the physicians. It should be enough that the data gathered will be of sufficient quantity and quality to insure the accuracy and consistence of the results. b. Data Comparison Check acquired data against model parameters c. Generate an Operating/Testing Procedure An operating and testing procedure will be written to inform the operating personnel of the procedure to be followed and the data to be recorded. It will require coordination and approval by the performing department. It will also contain data sheets which detail the type of data to be recorded. d. Obtain Hospital/Patient Approval The approval of the hospital administration as well as the patient/patient responsible party will be required before any type of patient involved testing will be conducted.
