Typical VPMA Projects Huntington Memorial Hospital - Respiratory Isolation Chamber Designed and developed an accurately controlled air pollution chamber used to measure the sensitivity of patients in the chamber to various types and concentrations of pollutants (Asthma/Allergy type sensitivity). Being used for R&D activities by UCLA and Huntington Hospitals. LA Children's Hospital - Hypoventilation Apparatus Developing a light nighttime exercise apparatus to raise the heart and breathing rate of children who are born with a dangerously low breathing rate during sleep. They normally require respirators every night to avoid breathing shutdown. Huntington Research Institute - Neuroprothesis Research Assisted in component and system concepts on a research program to extend the life of electrically stimulated nerves. (i.e. prolonged life of nerve stimulated by a heart pacemaker.) Huntington Memorial Hospital - Neonatal Computer Task Develop a special computer program to facilitate the long time medical record keeping (20 years?) of children born with special disabilities (i.e. premature children who loose one jugular vein and artery as a result of early birthing). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
