Volunteer Professionals for Medical Advancement
Progress Reports and Papers
Executive Summary (Continued)

What is required out of this initial set of experiments is verification of the ability of the system to control the level of oxygen supplied to a baby, identification of the types and character of an alarm system, and verification of the accuracy of the model used for predicting the outcome of the experiment. Once the predictability of the model is established, it may then be used to test modifications to the control algorithm prior to implementation on a live subject.

The organizations involved in the project will be the Volunteers Professionals for Medical Advancement and the participating hospital personnel. It is anticipated that the hospital will supply (1) the medical personnel for control and data gathering and (2) the test subjects and (3) obtain the necessary authorizations. VPMA will (1) supply the system and valve modifications (2) perform the data analysis model verification and (3) write and obtain concurrence of a joint report documenting the test results.
