About VPMA
Volunteer Professionals Available --- Highly qualified (retired) Engineers & Scientists are available (part-time) to assist medical professionals on a wide variety of selected R&D medical engineering projects. These volunteers are professionals that have had considerable experience via various programs such as NIH, NASA, and DOE. They bring a variety of talents such as: systems engineering, communications, computer programming, mechanical engineering, analysis, hardware development, etc.
Types of VPMA Activities --- Efforts include consulting, conceptual and prototype design, analysis, development, testing, monitoring, reviewing and evaluation.
VPMA Organization --- VPMA is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization incorporate in 1996. It evolved from a group of members of the CIT/JPL Retirees Association who had volunteered for years to support the medical profession. It utilizes some of the discretionary time of professionals who are interested in volunteering (part-time) for advancing medical technology. They work with physicians and medical staff to develop new diagnostics and curative medical instruments and equipment.
VPMA Objectives --- The purpose of this program has been to enlist retired professional engineers and to volunteer a small part of their leisure time to assist doctors and hospitals to advance medicine. The long-term goal is to increase the VPMA achievements for the benefit of mankind and the personal rewards of the volunteers. |
